Privacy Policy

// TL;DR

We don't sell your data. We don't even want your data. We relay terminal bytes in real-time and don't store them. Your terminal content passes through our edge servers and is immediately discarded.

Who we are

relay-tty is operated by Scott Pierce. We're a small, independent project built by developers who love to code — with and without AI assistance. We're not a data company. We're a developer tools company.

What we collect

Account data

When you create an account, we store:

Terminal data

We store zero terminal content. Your terminal sessions are relayed in real-time through Cloudflare Durable Objects. Bytes flow in, bytes flow out. Nothing is logged, recorded, cached, or persisted at the edge. We couldn't replay your sessions even if someone asked us to.

Usage metadata

We may collect basic usage metrics: tunnel connection count, session duration, and error rates. This is for keeping the service running, not for profiling you.

What we don't do

Third-party services

We use Cloudflare for edge hosting, DNS, and DDoS protection. Your connections route through Cloudflare's network. Cloudflare has their own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review.

If we add payment processing (Stripe), your payment details go directly to Stripe — we never see or store card numbers.

Data retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your data. Terminal content is never retained — it doesn't touch disk.

Your rights

You can:

Email privacy@relaytty.com for any privacy-related requests.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For material changes, we'll notify you by email. We won't retroactively weaken your privacy protections.
